studio resourcesauditioning at JMU: undergraduate
If you are interested in submitting an application for the music program at JMU, please follow the guidelines for both University Admissions and School of Music Admissions. For your audition, please prepare two works of contrasting musical style and tempo, selected from standard solo repertoire, Weissenborn: 50 Advanced Studies, studies by Milde, or other similar material. You should also be prepared to play all major scales, a three octave Bb chromatic scale, and sight read at your audition. If you do not plan to major in music, an audition for admission is not required. If you are planning to major in music, schedule your audition as early as possible, work to maintain a high grade point average, and prepare well for your college entrance exams. Strength in all of the above areas will be beneficial as your admission and scholarship applications are considered. If you are interested in observing or taking a lesson with me in advance of your audition, or if you would like to shadow a current bassoon student and observe their classes and reharsals, please contact me to arrange a campus visit. auditioning at JMU: graduateIf you are interested in submitting an application for the music program at JMU, please follow the guidelines for both University Admissions and School of Music Admissions.
